AASA

Arizona’s Academic Standards Assessment (AASA) is the new statewide achievement test for Arizona students in grades 3rd through 12th grade. This test replaces the AzM2 Assessment. The AASA is based on the new learning standards and provide teachers, students, and parents with data regarding student readiness for college and career, upon graduation from high school.

Arizona public school students in 3rd grade through high school will take AASA. Students in 3rd through 8th grade will take an assessment in English language arts and mathematics at their respective grade level. We will publish assessment guidelines and practice tests in Fall 2021.

Please check the ADE website for on-going updates regarding the new state assessment. Only eligible students with significant cognitive disabilities will participate in other alternate achievement tests.

AzSCI

The Arizona Science Assessment (AzSCI) did not change, and will be administered to all public school 5th, 8th, and 11th grade students in Arizona.  More information regarding AzSCI can be found on the ADE website.
